Why GSM Matters When Selecting Woven Interlining

GSM is one of the most important specifications when sourcing interlining for formal garments. A heavier fabric does not automatically mean better quality; the correct weight depends on how much structure the finished garment needs. Woven fusible interlining is available across different GSM ranges, allowing manufacturers to match support with the outer fabric and garment design.
For a heavily embroidered sherwani, a stronger and heavier woven interlining may be required to support the front panel. A lighter blazer may need a medium grade to preserve movement and comfort. Manufacturers should evaluate GSM alongside coating, bonding performance and hand-feel rather than choosing by weight alone. Double Ghoda provides different woven fusible options so garment factories can select a suitable specification for their production requirements.
