How to Choose Woven Interlining for Garment Production

Choosing the right woven interlining starts with understanding the garment's structural requirements. A lightweight fabric does not necessarily need the same interlining as a structured blazer, sherwani, or woollen overcoat. Factors such as GSM, garment type, required body, and the intended construction should therefore be considered before placing a wholesale order.
GSM provides a useful starting point for comparing woven fusible interlining grades. Double Ghoda offers products from 30 GSM to 150 GSM. The range includes lighter options for fine and lightweight fabrics, medium grades for shirts, uniforms, jackets, and suits, and heavier grades for structured formal wear. The 140 GSM 111 quality is listed for full-front sherwani construction, while 150 GSM is intended for maximum structured applications.
The fusing method should also be considered during material selection. Double Ghoda's woven interlining uses PA double-dot coating and is applied with the coated side facing the wrong side of the fashion fabric. Its stated application parameters are 125–145°C, 18–25 seconds, and 1.5–2.5 kg/cm² using a flatbed fusing press. After application, the fabric should cool before checking the bond for bubbles or peeling.
